“A Lasting Bond” — A Film for Farmak’s 100th Anniversary by MAKE SENSE
The strategic marketing agency MAKE SENSE developed the creative concept for a short film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Farmak.
The creative idea behind the film is based on a simple yet powerful belief: everything in the world is chemistry, and everything has its own formula — love, kindness, resilience, and success. This became the foundation of the short film “A Lasting Bond”, which explores the key components of Farmak’s resilience and long-term success through the metaphor of chemical formulas and compounds.
The film follows Farmak’s top executives — people who have devoted many years of their lives to the company’s development. They reflect on the company’s journey, challenges, difficult decisions, and achievements. Together with their teams, they have shaped Farmak’s growth and leadership in the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market.
Guiding the audience through these reflections is renowned Ukrainian actor and director Oleksii Hnatkovskyi. He serves as a bridge between the deeply personal experiences of the protagonists and the audience, helping uncover the elements of the company’s formula for resilience while revealing the bigger picture behind Farmak’s strength and success.
Throughout the film, the characters realize that the company’s formula for resilience has evolved over time, continuously incorporating new elements. The final scene presents a unique formula composed of key components:
Investment + Adaptability + Quality + Innovation + Responsibility + Team + Partnerships = Farmak
MAKE SENSE developed the creative concept, screenplay, and art direction for the film. Production was carried out by The More agency, with Maksym Marchenko serving as director.
Kyrylo Tereshchenko, Founder of MAKE SENSE:
“For me personally, Farmak embodies the principles described in the book Good to Great. It is the story of a great company that, for 100 years and through every crisis, has continuously built, rebuilt, and transformed itself while creating value for millions of Ukrainians. It is a remarkable example for the entire country.”
Yevheniia Piddubna, Corporate Communications Director at Farmak:
“This film tells the story of how a Soviet-era factory producing only a few pharmaceutical substances and employing just 54 people transformed over the course of a century into an international pharmaceutical brand present in 60 markets worldwide, with more than 3,500 employees in Ukraine and beyond. How was this achieved? Through bold and wise decisions, a European approach, strategic vision, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.”
